Manuela Braunmüller's project "58 billion chickens" deals with factory farming using the example of chicken. She presents the value of "animal" in a quietly poetic way. In today's world, in which animal reportages are either cruelly directly documented or artificially over-styled, the jury finds Braunmüller's focus on details and haptics remarkable. The respective structure and materiality of each part of the animal becomes perceptible, tangible and yet we can still sense the "cruel" story behind it.
